Florence Nightingale, Coxcomb

Florence Nightingale influenced medical care, one way she did this was using her coxcomb diagram

Florence Nightingale, Diagram of the Causes of Mortality in the Army of the East, 1858. First published in Nightingale (1858) Notes on Matters Affecting the Health, Efficiency, and Hospital Administration of the British Army, London: Harrison and Sons

During the Crimea war Florence Nightingale used a visualisation called a ‘coxcomb’ to make a case for better practices to save lives.
